Why not slowly savor the true flavor of Gyokuro, the pinnacle of Japanese traditional tea? ◆ Among Japanese cuisine enthusiasts, repeat customers are increasing! What is the reason for its popularity? Even those who know that Gyokuro is the highest grade of tea often do not know the true flavor of top-grade Gyokuro. This is because Gyokuro cannot be made simply by placing tea leaves in a teapot and pouring water over them like regular Sencha. Furthermore, even if you travel to Kyoto, it is rare to find restaurants or inns that use the proper tea utensils and brewing methods to serve authentic Gyokuro tea. ◆ In addition to the fact that few people know the true flavor of top-grade Gyokuro, it seems that fewer people are brewing tea with a teapot. This has raised concerns among those involved with Uji tea about the risk of losing the taste of genuine tea. At the same time, they heard from Kyoto chefs that "there are no soft drinks that pair well with Japanese cuisine." This led to the determination to create a beverage that conveys the true flavor of Kyoto's Gyokuro, the pinnacle of Japanese tea, while also matching the elegance of Kyoto's Japanese cuisine. With the support of the Kyoto Prefecture, the cooperative members collaborated to develop and complete the "Authentic Gyokuro Beverage Tamau (Tamau-sagi)." ◆ Although it comes in a bottle, it has been developed so that by warming it slightly (50-60℃), you can enjoy the taste of "authentic delicious Gyokuro" brewed with care by skilled tea artisans. The common impression from first-time drinkers is, "So this is what Gyokuro tastes like?" Not only the taste but also the "fresh aroma and the refreshing, sweet scent of young leaves" have received positive feedback. ◆ In the realm of Japanese cuisine, where non-alcoholic options have become the norm, this beverage has been sold since 2020 and is now known
