You will receive the product shown in the photograph, accompanied by a certificate issued by the [World Powers Wood] Association. ◆ This bracelet is made from a very rare wood sourced from a large Japanese cedar tree that fell during Typhoon No. 18 in 2009 within the grounds of Ise Grand Shrine (Naiku) in Mie Prefecture. ◆ The Jingu Miyama Sugi (Ise Grand Shrine mountain cedar) refers to the cedar trees grown on the grounds of Ise Grand Shrine and the precious cedar trees cultivated by the Shrine with special management from its seeds. These Jingu Sugi trees growing in Naiku have been revered as a yorishiro (sacred object embodying a deity), where Amaterasu-Omikami is believed to reside, and have been carefully protected and nurtured as sacred trees guarding this land for hundreds of years. Generally, felling is not permitted, and they are only used during the Shikinen Sengu relocation ceremony, which takes place every 20 years. However, very rarely, only a few trees that have fallen due to typhoons or other events are released to the market as Miyama Sugi over a period of twenty years, making them extremely rare.
