【Brand Introduction】
SWANS is a Japanese brand created by Yamamoto Optical Co., Ltd., founded in 1911. Based on data on the head shapes of Japanese people, their products are designed to fit Japanese people, and with over 100 years of history in light control technology, their products continue to be supported by numerous top athletes both domestically and internationally.
【What is Visible Light Transmittance?】
This is a numerical representation of the amount of light that passes through a lens. It is displayed as a percentage from 0% to 100%, with the naked eye being 100%. A lower number means the lens transmits less light (is darker).
【What is Polycarbonate?】
The polycarbonate used in SWANS sunglasses is a resin with excellent impact resistance and transparency, and is also used in aircraft windshields and spacesuit helmets. Because it is highly impact-resistant and less likely to break, and even if it does break, it does not shatter, it is a highly safe material for sports sunglasses lenses. SWANS uses its own scratch-resistant lens, "Petroid Lens," based on this polycarbonate.
[What are polarized lenses?]
The polarizing function effectively cuts out diffusely reflected light (polarized) from various objects such as roads, water surfaces, windows, cars, and buildings, reducing glare. Because distracting light is cut out, the scenery is seen clearly, and the lenses are less tiring even when worn for long periods of time.
[What are ULTLA lenses?]
SWANS' unique lenses have a function that makes things easier to see (improved visibility). These lenses are made with SWANS' lens technology that adjusts contrast, making them easier on the eyes and making it easier to see what you want to see.
