Yamaha synthetic (resin) reeds are characterized by their ease of playing and sound production, as well as their appearance and feel, which are close to those of a cane reed, making them easy to use even for beginners.
Its performance prioritizes the basics, making it ideal for beginners.

It contains no substances harmful to the body, and can be cleaned and disinfected with Yamaha mouthpiece cleaners such as the MPC3. You can use it safely and hygienically at any time.
The reed can be used straight out of the package, and the plastic packaging and paper case that encase the reed can be used as a reed case. The paper case is waterproof and resistant to tearing even if the reed is slightly wet.
The Yamaha ASR30 is a synthetic reed for alto saxophone at strength 3, designed to be ready to play right out of the package with no soaking or breaking-in required. Made from a Yamaha-developed formula based on natural fibrous cane, it offers a tone, look, and feel close to a traditional cane reed, with an original shape featuring a stronger central rib for balanced playability across the instrument's range. A special heat-treating process helps produce a deep tone and smooth sound production.
Built for durability, Yamaha synthetic reeds can be played for many months without becoming weak or losing tone, meaning fewer reed replacements over time. The reed strength is laser-engraved on the back so it won't fade, and strengths follow the same numbering system as traditional cane reeds, making it easy to find your equivalent.
