"STYLE 36" was born in 1977 as the first model to feature side stripes, and now recreates the details of OLDSKOOL, a popular standard model representing VANS, when it was first released. There is a history of updates that have made the suede part of the toe larger to withstand skateboarding, but STYLE 36 features an original small toe cap. In addition, the style number used before VANS had a model name has been reprinted with that name.
