[Pre-wrapped in high-quality Japanese paper]
By repeatedly hammering rolled tin sheets, patterns are not only created, but the resulting material possesses the strength to withstand repeated bending. The joy of "Suzugami" lies in the "fun of shaping it yourself," born from the "hammering" technique.
"Arare" is the most technically demanding and time-consuming design among all the "suzugami" (paper crafts).
100% tin is very soft and can be easily bent by hand, so you can use it in your desired shape.
After bending, you can restore it to its original shape by pressing and rolling it on a flat table with a smooth, round object (such as a cardboard tube from a roll of plastic wrap). The color will change with use, but this is a characteristic of the material, so please enjoy the changes.
Unlike ordinary tin sheets, "Suzugami" is made by repeatedly rolling and then rhythmically hammering it with a hammer by skilled craftsmen, resulting in an item that is less prone to deterioration from bending and stretching, and can be folded and bent like origami. The joy of "Suzugami" lies in the "fun of shaping it yourself" created by the "hammering" technique. "Arare" has a hammered texture that looks like ice pellets falling and making a sound. This product is made from 100% rolled tin. Tin has been said to have antibacterial properties since ancient times, so it can be used as tableware. 100% tin is very soft and can be easily bent by hand, so you can change it to your desired shape.
