We make effective use of leftover wood from Shimanto cypress trees that are approximately 70 to 80 years old and full of vitality. The material has a beautiful pale pink color and contains plenty of oil, making it excellent at repelling water. This cutting board is made from plywood of Shimanto cypress, which is highly resilient and flexible, and is therefore soft on the blade and gentle on the cutting edge. After use, simply wipe off any excess moisture and hang it on a hook or similar to dry and store. To prevent blackening, discoloration, and cracking that are common with cutting boards, a prepolymer coating is impregnated only on the sides of the cutting board. Please avoid using a dishwasher. This may cause the cutting board to crack or warp. This cutting board is made of laminated wood (joined together pieces), not a single piece of solid wood.
