Atsushi Nishigori, who directed "The Idolmaster" and handled character design for "Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann," is directing this work, and Masayoshi Tanaka, who worked on "Your Name." and "The Anthem of the Heart," is participating as character designer.

And the production is a dream come true, with TRIGGER, known for "Kill la Kill" and "Little Witch Academia," and A-1 Pictures, known for the "Idolmaster" series and "Anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day," teaming up!

Furthermore, the project is supported by members such as Hiroyuki Imaishi, director of "Kill la Kill" and "Gurren Lagann," Shigeto Koyama, who worked on "Evangelion: New Theatrical Edition" and "Big Hero 6," Toshifumi Akai, who handled character design for "Magi," and Naotaka Hayashi of "Steins;Gate"!

★Story They dream. A dream of soaring into the vast sky one day. Even though they know how far away that sky, obscured by glass, is.

The distant future.

Humanity had built mobile fortress cities called "Plantations" on a desolate land, and was enjoying a thriving civilization.

Within these was a pilot living facility called "Mistilteinn," also known as the "Birdcage."

Children lived there.

They knew nothing of the outside world.

They knew nothing of the free skies.

Their only mission was to fight.

Their enemy was the colossal life forms known as "Klaxosaurs," shrouded in mystery.

To confront this unseen enemy, the children pilot robots called "Franxx."

They believed that piloting them was proof of their existence.

There was once a boy called a prodigy. His code number was 016. His name was Hiro.

But now he was a failure.

An unwanted existence.

Even though if he couldn't pilot a Franxx, it was as if he didn't exist.

Then, one day, a mysterious girl called Zero Two appeared before Hiro.
