Product introduction
1/48 scale plastic model
At the time of development of the Typhoon, development of the Type N with the Nepia Sabre engine and the Type R with the Rolls-Royce Balture engine proceeded, and the Type R named Tornado took the first flight ahead of time in 1939/10.
The Type N, named Typhoon, first flew in February 1940 when development of the engine itself was delayed, and it was determined that high-speed flight characteristics were quite good, but there was a large tendency to swing to the right during takeoff.
After that, the engine supplied to the Tornado failed, making practical application difficult, and production was discontinued, and for the Typhoon, an IA equipped with a new Saber IIA engine was produced, and soon thereafter, an IB equipped with a machine gun was produced, and practical application was rushed.
However, since it was deployed in actual combat without sufficient practical test results, trouble occurred in various places, and a fatal accident occurred where the entire tail was damaged.
However, at that time, the only aircraft faster than the FW190 at low altitude was the Typhoon, and the 4 20mm machine guns crushed the enemy with a single blow.
The tail flaw in the problem was also resolved, and the attack on the European continent under German occupation from 194/11 destroyed airfields, ships, railways, etc. and achieved great results.
