Food supplement in the form of a hard capsule containing selenium in the form of highly absorbable L-selenomethionine. Selenium is an extremely important mineral trace element, among others it contributes to the normal thyroid function.
If you want to take care of your health and well-being, it's worth considering supplementing with selenium, especially if your diet doesn't provide enough of this nutrient.
Selenium is a trace element that is essential for the body in small amounts[1]. It's particularly important for the proper functioning of the immune system, which means that supplementing with selenium can help maintain good health and reduce the risk of infections and diseases[2].
Selenium also has antioxidant properties, which means that it helps fight free radicals and prevents premature ageing of the skin[3]. In addition, this element is necessary for the proper functioning of the thyroid gland[4], which is responsible for producing hormones that regulate many metabolic processes in the body.
Supplementing with selenium can help maintain healthy hair and nails and support male fertility by positively impacting spermatogenesis[5]. Moreover, regular consumption of selenium-rich foods can help maintain good mood and well-being.
Selenium is found in many foods, including Brazil nuts, fish and seafood, offal, eggs, buckwheat, and cocoa. Selenium deficiency can lead to thyroid disorders, reduced fertility, weakened immunity, and worsened mood[6]. Therefore, it's important to include selenium-rich foods in your diet and consider supplementation if needed.
