This unit is a high-quality phono equalizer amplifier. It is used when connecting a record player that does not have a built-in phono equalizer to a recording system or similar. The built-in low-noise phono equalizer circuit is highly precise and accurately follows the RIAA curve. Controls and Functions A unique feature of this unit is the ability to switch the input capacitance between 100pF and 200pF to match the characteristics of the phono cartridge. Because it cannot reproduce low frequencies and mid-high frequencies equally, it is necessary to compensate for the low frequencies during playback. 2. Because records inherently contain a certain amount of hiss noise, post-production work is performed before pressing to boost the high-frequency gain. Therefore, the opposite equalization is necessary during playback. 3. The output signal of a phono cartridge is weak (around 5mV even for an MM type cartridge), so amplification is necessary during playback, taking into account items 1 and 2 mentioned above.
