• This is the highest grade of the Deep Steamed Kakegawa Tea series. Every spring, during the new芽 growth period, the tea garden is covered with shading nets for a few days before harvesting the new芽, creating Kabusecha (covered tea) by blocking strong sunlight to cultivate the tea芽.
• By shading the tea garden, the chlorophyll content in the tea leaves increases, resulting in a deep green color and a refined aroma similar to Gyokuro, unique to covered cultivation.
• Deep steamed tea is produced by steaming the leaves 2 to 3 times longer than regular tea, making the tea components easier to extract, resulting in a rich, full-bodied, and less astringent green tea.
• Kakegawa City, often featured on TV as a city of longevity, primarily drinks deep steamed green tea. The longer steaming time allows nutrients that normally do not dissolve in tea to be extracted into the tea.
• In Kakegawa, which features hilly terrain, thick-leaf teas are cultivated, making it suitable for deep steaming methods, and it is widely known as a famous producer of delicious deep steamed tea.
