Product Description: 24 ultra-bright smart LED pixels are arranged in a 2.6-inch (66mm) outer diameter circle. The ring is "cascadable" - connect one output pin to another input pin. You can control as many as you can chain using just one microcontroller pin. Each LED is addressable as the driver chip is inside the LED. Constant current drive of 18mA each ensures very consistent color even with voltage fluctuations, and the design is compact with no external resistors required. Powering the entire ring with 5VDC will make it light up instantly. There is a single data line with a highly timing-sensitive protocol. Because the protocol is very timing-sensitive, a real-time microcontroller such as AVR, Arduino, PIC, or Mbed is required. It cannot be used with Linux-based microcontrollers or interpreter microcontrollers such as netduino or Basic Stamp. This driver is compatible with the NeoPixel library for Arduino and Fast-LED. An 8MHz or higher processor is required.
