Founded in 1989 by the state's Department of Corrections within a prison, the brand aims to provide inmates with skills and opportunities for rehabilitation. All products are handmade by inmates, making them truly Made in the USA! The quality is undeniable, and they're incredibly durable. Initially, they were only available to inmates within the prison, but now they're available on the open market as well. Half of the sales go to compensation for victims, and the rest goes to brand management costs and to inmates after their release, making this a fantastic system. It's this background that makes it possible to buy American-made products at such low prices. Inmates not only produce the products, but also act as models for promotional materials, making them truly Made on the Inside! These denim coveralls from Prison Blues were handmade by prisoners. Crafted from 14.75 oz. heavy denim, they offer a classic look with four large patch pockets on the front. A name tag on the flap adds a touch of class. The engraved rivet reinforcement adds a rugged touch. The buttons along the seams are also engraved and original. Originally designed as a prison yard coat, they have a fairly loose fit, about two sizes larger than typical American garments. While the line starts at size S, we have also made an XS size available as a special order. This model features specially designed stitching. While the regular model has a plain, matching stitching, we use orange stitching known as red fox for a more work-inspired feel. This stitching is also used on Prison Blues' denim bottoms, making them a perfect pair. We are the only retailer in the world to carry this item.
