* Before use, rinse 2-3 times, boil water in it once, discard the water, and then use. * Use the iron kettle only for boiling water; do not boil water with tea leaves or herbs in it. (The water may become cloudy.) * Be careful as it becomes very hot during and after heating.
* Compatible heat sources: Gas stove, induction cooktop, sheathed heater, halogen heater (microwave oven not usable) * After use, promptly discard any remaining water to ensure no moisture remains. This can cause rust. * In some cases, after use, remove the lid and heat the kettle for 30 seconds to 1 minute to remove any remaining moisture. * Store in a cool, dry place, wrapped in newspaper or similar material. * If rust occurs, the water boiled in a rusted iron kettle is not harmful to your health, so please use it as is. If rust is a major concern, wrap tea leaves in a tea bag and boil them together. Repeat this 2-3 times. After that, boil water alone 2-3 times until the water becomes clear. The spout and the underside of the lid are particularly prone to rust, so wipe them with a cloth soaked in tea.
This is a Nambu iron kettle designed by furniture designer Makoto Koizumi. It boasts a sophisticated and striking design unlike any other Nambu iron kettle, yet it blends seamlessly with any interior. The inside of the kettle is treated with an oxide film to make it rust-resistant. It is also highly practical, as it allows for iron supplementation through the leaching of iron, a characteristic of ironware. It also possesses the excellent pouring ability that is a hallmark of Nambu iron kettles.
