Introducing the October/November Issue of Waraku
Waraku launched with its October 2001 issue.
Thanks to your support, this October/November issue marks our 20th anniversary.
Our 20th anniversary special issue features a long-awaited special on Ito Jakuchu!
In July, it was announced that his "Dobutsu Sai-e" (Colorful Animals and Plants) would be designated a National Treasure.
In August, a "decorated truck" featuring his "Jukan Choju Zu (Screen of Trees, Flowers, Birds, and Animals)" was featured at the opening ceremony of the Tokyo Paralympics.
Ito Jakuchu is gaining worldwide attention.
Waraku has featured Jakuchu many times, and this issue is the culmination of those efforts!
We'll explore everything about this imaginative artist through 100 keywords.
Our 20th anniversary special supplement is a gorgeous canvas tote bag featuring a pop-style arrangement of Jakuchu's "Tiger," one of his most popular works! It's a whopping 40x40cm! The charming tiger looks as if it could jump out at any moment, and you're sure to turn heads! Our second feature is Kyoto. Discover hidden spots to admire the autumn leaves, can't-miss art exhibitions, and exquisite dried sweets that will make you exclaim "so cute!" the moment you open the lid.
