These are formal prayer beads for men of the Shingon sect. The material is brushed iron wood with a nice texture. Tetsutoki is a very heavy and hard wood with a clear grain, giving it its name because it resembles an iron sword. Because of its heavy, hard, and dense material, it has long been prized as one of the three most important karaki woods, along with rosewood and ebony. This time, we use a special wood bead processing technology to make the surface wood grain clear and the round pattern perfectly displayed.The tassels are made of Odamaki Sanskrit tassels that are durable, easy to handle, and will not lose their shape.
The official prayer beads for the Shingon sect are basically made up of 108 main beads, with the addition of two main beads and four four heavenly beads. On each side of the parent bead are 10 disciple beads (keiko), and a dew bead is attached to the tip of the disciple bead. The small bead between the disciple bead and the parent bead on one side is called the nadama bead. The mother beads (parent beads) of the one with the Namadama are called mother beads.
