Along with steel guitars and ukuleles, a major characteristic of Hawaiian music is falsetto (back voice) singing. It can be said that it is the most important way to sing that creates the atmosphere of Hawaiian music regardless of whether it is male or female.
This work is an editorial board that focuses on such a unique singing style, and was created with the concept of looking back on history while enjoying vintage recordings by masters in that field. Yamauchi Yuki and Tanaka Katsunori are in charge of song selection/explanation, and we will introduce famous performances left on SP records, which are difficult to obtain now, along with detailed explanations. Of course, starting with Lena Machard's phantom masterpiece called “Hawaiian Songbird,” heyday recordings of male virtuosos such as George Kainapow are also well recorded.
The original was released in 1999, but this time it has been remastered and relaunched at a low price.
