Product introduction
Pailin Phonpiboon is an orthodox Moram singer who is the treasured son of Surin Paksiri, a major figure in Isan music, and has followed Ankanan Khunchai. The best edition of this book, which is the first in the world, collected famous performances from the late 70s to the early 80s during their heyday by a famous duo with Paksiri. It was both capable and popular, but there weren't many recordings (→ Paksiri hated crude fabrication), and since most of them were single releases, the sound source value of this work is quite high. Almost all songs will be re-released and made into CDs for the first time in the world.
The title song “Ram Chrome Tung (The Phantom White Bird)” is the theme song for the blockbuster film “Monlac Menam Mu” (78) with Isan's music as the leading role, and is her signature song. It is a famous song with the statement that Thai pop tycoon Waippot Petspan, who was moved by this, begged Paksiri to make a cover.
Surin Paksiri is also an innovator who has always breathed fresh air into Isan's music, but Pailin is a singer from the time when he was the sharpest, so his works are super experimental. Rum Prune, Rum Tan Wai, and Ruktun Isan are all unique recordings, and they are full of deep and heavy works, such as polyrhythmic songs reminiscent of African music and songs of tribal dance music itself. Among Thai music, where the spotlight tends to be focused only on the songs and appearance of singers, famous songs that should be talked about in terms of sound are lined up, similar to famous producer/arranger jobs in Japan, America, and Europe. A unique musical morum that isn't funk, jazz, rock, or club music! The more you know about Thai music, the more you know how special it is, and Soi48 and M are proud to send you this special piece!
